Lots of people think we are singing "and the backseat it burns like fire", which I think may have been a way cooler lyric. You can sing that instead if you want.

Yes, it's true: people pull a mondegreen with that line, but I disagree with Kelly that it sounds better: it sounds more hemorrhoidal to me. I recorded this song once before on a 7" I split with my long-lost musical-genius friend John "One Boy Band" Geiger. I played all the instruments on that version, even the drums. We pressed it on red vinyl, but the company that manufactured it made it sound like shit. Or maybe my drumming made it sound like shit. I remember playing a Fisher Price xylophone on the earlier version. You know, the one with the rainbow-colored chintzy metal bars?
